With some really steep turns and awestrucking view this road trip is hell of an experience
When travelling from Delhi, you need to take NH58 till Roorkee (via Meerut and Muzzafarnagar), and NH72-A till Dehradun. Thereon, follow the state highway (known as the New Mussoorie Road) to Mussoorie.
Also if you’re on a little low budget you can consider the option of taking a bus from popular destination like Delhi, Rohtak. I would recommend because by using this glorious method you will get the chance of interacting will your fellow
There are numerous trains connecting New Delhi with Dehradun, such as the Shatabdi Express (as well as the Jan Shatabdi Express), the Mussoorie Express, and the Nizamuddin AC Special. The latter two trains are overnight trains. The journey lasts approximately 5.5 hours, depending on the train chosen. All the above-mentioned trains pass through Haridwar.
For the people who are coming from Delhi it’s convenient bu for the people who are coming from the other parts of the nation you can easily come to Delhi to get your train.
The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which lies approximately 54 kilometres away, and offers daily connectivity with New Delhi.
Like train route only it has connectivity from the New Delhi for the people coming from the other parts of the nation.

Things to do in Mussoorie
Get lost in the Mall Road.
Like most of the Hills stations in India, Mussoorie has it’s very own Mall Road where you can indulge in the shopping or simply you can devour the food. Basically, it has something for everyone. From gaming parlours for the kids to some clothes shops for elders.
Just go crazy while you’re in mall road. Go and eat the chicken momos by the road or gift yourself the warmth of the beautiful sweater. Recently they have started the cycling facility in the mall road, by this you can simply hire a cycle on an hourly basis or daily and just explore the city. That’s what I used to do while I was there about which I have also written a blog.
In the mall road only there are lots of places from where you can rejoice the panoramic view of Garhwal Himalayan Region. I remember their is a bench in the amidst where I used to sit for like hours just admiring the nature. Mesmerised by it’s beauty I used to seek solace. A cup of hot coffee and a mesmerising view in front of you, what else can one desire for.
In the night the view of the Doon Valley from the mall road is like stars are spread beneath us. All twinkling and sparkling.
Trek to the Lal Tibba
Lal Tibba is the highest point perched at 2,346 metres above sea level, and a must-visit attraction.
Surrounded by dense clusters of pine and deodar trees, Lal Tibba gives you a chance to behold some of the most picturesque views of the Himalayan Garhwal mountain range called Bandarpunch or Hanuman’s Tail.
Lal tibba is barely 5 km away from the Mussoorie and to reach here you have to pass through the small town of Landoor. You can easily get a cab from the Bus Station, but like a true traveller I would recommend you to trek and visit this spellbinding destination. By this, you get a chance to explore the simplest beauty of the city. You admire that 100 years old Oak tree which you probably would have ignored in the car. You also talk to the locals and show curiosity in their culture.
As surreal as it sounds but once you reach the Lal Tibba after trekking all the way through the steep slopes and turns you admire start admiring more solemnly with your heat.
View from the Lal Tibba is truly astonishing all the long , but the early morning sunrise from there is something Mythical. Sun rising amidst of the haze and cloud engulfing the darkness within and spreading that red amusing rays everywhere is one magical experience. Luckily I was there to witness it
Ropeway rides to the Gun Hill
Gun Hill is one of the most famous tourist attractions of the Mussoorie. It is the second highest peak in the region after Lal Tibba. There is an interesting history that backs the popularity of the Gun Hill. It is said that from this hilltop, the British used to fire a cannon every afternoon to help the natives know the time.
This peak offers amazing views of snow-covered Himalayan ranges namely Srikantha, Bandarpunch, Pithwara and Gangotri. Besides, the splendid view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley would leave you completely spellbound. The point has many shops, restaurants and stalls where one can indulge in games like balloon shooting and hoopla or simply savour the foods available there.
Their reach here you have to come by the ropeway which you can take from the Mall Road, trust me it is an experience in itself. Passing above the clusters of oak trees you witness the beauty of the mountains from the whole new dimension
